Stay Home for Nevada

We have a new slogan for our state:

and we have been staying home...mostly.  We have managed to sneak out now and then to enjoy a little nature. We took a walk along the new bike/pedestrian trail to Sand Harbor. It was a cold day, but by the time we finished our walk the trail was starting to get a little crowded.

Another day we took a walk in the hills above the power station. It has been dry this winter, but a few small wildflowers were blooming.

There are encouraging signs along the trail.
but I guess someone didn't like the sentiment of this sign

A few days ago we walked a portion of the newly completed Tahoe Pyramid trail in Truckee.

at random spots along the trail we saw balanced rocks like this one.
After our walk Calvin hopped on his bike and rode 30 miles home.
When we aren't out enjoying nature I'm woking in my study which look like this most of the time.
I now have 14 binders of pictures from 1976 to 2005.  I had to stop there because I ran out of photo sleeves.  I actually only have one more year of photos. After 2006 we quit getting paper prints, so there is an end in sight. I still have a fairly large stack of photos with no dates that I am trying to identify.  That turns out to be a very slow process, so when I get tired of the project I go for a walk around Virginia Lake and thanks to Rachel I am now socially responsible when I walk.
